After last years success of bringing back the Sports Key Games, we were thrilled to be able to deliver another consecutive event, as we welcomed the Sports Key Games 2023. One year on from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, we are delivering to our mission to support the continuation, of the Commonwealth Games Legacy, to create better futures for local communities through sport, physical activity, and employment pathways for young people.
Whilst the weather was not on our side for the best part of the day, the sheer strength of the community, volunteers and staff members meant we were able to make adjustments to some of the activities enabling the event to still run smoothly. We were pleased to introduce new activities within our breakout zone which included:
Wheelchair Basketball – Breaking Barriers and Make a Change
Boxing Arena – More Than a Dream School
Fitness Session – Twinsane Fitness
Childrens Multisport Activity – Neo Sport.
We would like to thank all those who took part in the Netball, Football and Badminton tournament, staff members, deliverers, volunteers, host (Ayola Lee), Wolverhampton University and Sport Birmingham for the support.
