Young people are the life blood of our community and we want to provide a pathway for them to be role models, local heroes and future leaders. Unfortunately, many of the youth in the community are faced with complexed social inequalities, with common by products being a skills and education gap. Therefore, through the lens of a young person, starting a career can be difficult. However, we know the potential that exists within our community if given the right opportunities and environment. We want people (particularly young people) from the community aged 16–21 to have better chances in life, with better access to training and development where they can enhance their knowledge, skills and employability prospects. Our volunteer programme will allow a cohort of selected beneficiaries the opportunity to gain skills, coaching qualifications, and practical work experiences. Young people will also be deployed to external partners and internally within our community programmes and signature events, taking on various roles.
